The additional tuning can be done using Options window.
Select File from main menu and then choose Options...
Now you can tune and configure System Locker to suit your needs. The available options are described below.
Hint is used to help you if you have forgotten your password.
This button allows you to change your password which is used for unlocking your system after it has been locked. In order to change the password you should enter 3 string values: old password, new password and new password confirmation. Blank (empty) password is set after first installation of the program.
When checked, you will be prompted for the password every time you try to access the Options screen of System Locker or try to leave the program. Type your unlock password in Password Dialog if prompted.
Note: Please, read important material about password selection.
Specifies how long the Unlock button in Unlock screen will be disabled if Number of attempts is exceeded.
Specifies the number of error attempts before the Unlock button will be disabled for Lock error delay minutes. This will protect your computer from brute-force hacking. Enter "0" (zero) to disable this feature.
Enables or disables sound support.
Enter the path to the sound which will be played before locking your system. You can preview the sound by pressing Play button.
Enter the path to the sound which will be played before unlocking your system. You can preview the sound by pressing Play button.
Enables or disables the use of warning sound.
Enter the path to the sound which will be played when anybody is trying to unlock the workstation with wrong password supplied. You can preview the sound by pressing Play button.
Use this Play button to preview the corresponding lock, unlock or warning sound.
Turns auditing feature of System Locker OFF.
Turn auditing feature of System Locker ON. The log file can be accessed and maintained by choosing View Log File... from System Locker's File menu.
Tracks successful or unsuccessful password change event to log file.
This option is enabled only when tracking of successful password change is turned on.
Tracks locking workstation event.
Tracks successful or unsuccessful unlocking workstation event to log file.
This option is enabled only when tracking of failure unlocking workstation event is turned on.
Tracks program start and exit.
Checking the Success checkbox turns tracking for the corresponding success event ON.
Checking the Failure checkbox turns tracking for the corresponding failure event ON.
Startup and Scheduling tab
Locks your system each time System Locker starts.
Do not show System Locker's main window when System Locker starts. The program is minimized and can be accessed by small icon which is located in Windows Taskbar notification area.
Makes your System Locker start up automatically when you turn personal computer on.
If checked, the system will be locked at the time specified. Enter hour(s) and minute(s) into the corresponding fields.
This option together with the next two options allows you to schedule your work. You can specify the period of time when computer controls are locked by System Locker. This can be useful, for example, if your PC runs 24 hours a day and 7 days a week but you are working only from 10:00 to 18:00 and do not want anybody to access your workstation. Scheduling feature can also be used to protect your children from computer-related injuries by denying access to PC for them if they are spending to much time playing computer games.
If Disable computer controls (mouse and keyboard) checkbox is checked specifies the beginning of period when computer controls (both mouse and keyboard) are locked.
If Disable computer controls (mouse and keyboard) checkbox is checked specifies the end of period when computer controls (both mouse and keyboard) are locked.
When checked, displaysShutdown button in unlock screen. Pressing Shutdown will exit Windows without saving any changes in other programs and will prepare your personal computer for the safe shutdown.
System Locker can lock workstation after some period of user's inactivity. Provide the inactivity time in minutes into the corresponding field.
When checked turns reminder feature ON.
Specifies how often (in minutes) the reminder event occurs. Every time this happens, System Locker displays informative message with Reminder message text in message's body.
Specifies the message that is displayed for user when reminder event occurs.
